The Touareg is Volkswagen’s entry into the SUV segment, sharing a platform with the Porsche Cayenne. The Touareg offers German luxury, exceptional road performance, and excellent off-road capability. Completely redesigned for 2008, the Touareg gets its first major update with changes to the exterior, interior and fuel management system. Called the Touareg 2, the next-generation SUV features a number of new functions and options to give consumers more safety, comfort and versatility.
Completely redesigned, the next-generation 2008 Volkswagen Touareg 2 receives a number of updates to the exterior and interior including redesigned luxury seating with a standard 12-way power driver’s seat, a standard power liftgate, a standard SIRIUS Satellite Radio and optional keyless access with Start/Stop button and Dynaudio sound system. The front end is redesigned with a new bumper, grille, chrome eyebrows, side mirrors, and organically shaped headlight housings with polycarbonate lens covers while the rear receives a new roof edge spoiler, improved LED brake lighting and a fresh look for the tailpipes. A newly designed 17” alloy wheel is standard on the V6 FSI, and the V8 FSI and V10 TDI twin turbo now feature a standard 19” alloy wheel. A number of safety functions have been added to the Electronic Stabilization Program including Hydraulic Braking Assistant, Active Rollover Protection, ESP dry braking function, Fading Brake Support and Understeer Control Logic.
