The Eos is a four-seat convertible from Volkswagen that features a power retractable hardtop. Volkswagen refers to the roof structure as CSC (coupe-sunroof-convertible), which incorporates both a panoramic glass sunroof and a heated-glass rear window. The large sunroof panel can be opened without lowering the top structure and is sandwiched between the roof panels when the power hardtop is lowered completely. Named after the Greek goddess of dawn, Eos is a new addition to the Volkswagen lineup for 2007.
After making its debut for the 2007 model year, the 2008 Volkswagen Eos renames its trim levels to Turbo, Komfort, Lux and VR6. Each one of these trims receives more equipment for 2008. The Turbo receives optional heated front seats and Micritech interior trim; Komfort receives optional 17-inch alloy wheels; Lux receives new 17-inch alloy wheels and VR6 receives new 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome front grille louvers and a standard winter starting assist mode. A number of standard equipment are added on all models including a power 12-way driver seat, leather steering wheel, leather shift knob, leather parking brake handle, windblocker and a center sliding armrest. Both the Lux and VR6 receive Rear Park Distance Control and the Lux is available only with an automatic transmission.
